Telugu Cinema Prapancham: The thought is scary
I was reading a book last night that says “in a quarter century, there may well be no himalayan glaciers and water in major rivers lesser by two thirds. If India and the world do not take timely action, climate change will lead to falling crop yields, significant decrease in water availability.”
Farmers suicides no longer shock us and our food security cannot be taken for granted. I haven’t seen so much human migration to hyd , and so much pressure on the city and the scarcity of essential resources. While we are busy thinking of traffic jams and hike in auto rates, we tend to forget the most and worst impact water could have on our lives. We might not have volunteers serving water on busy roads on a hot summer afternoon free of cost anymore. The environmentalists say that if the govt does not act urgently there could be complete devastation of it’s people in the next four generations. Imagine giving your child and their children a future where there is no water, food but only extreme temperature. Our ministers, politicians should do something fast, lest people imagine that the problem is distant, we should know that india is already in trouble.

Telugu Cinema Prapancham: Abhimanam pongi porluthondi
Sarcasm, however seductively crafted is undoubtedly the reviewer’s prerogative. I try my best to not to hurt, not to be direct and frame my sentences properly but I always fail on that account. But i do enjoy blogging and it does make me smile when I think of a serious looking chandrababu starting an auto, or lady amitabh spitting venom, not gutkha on her rival, KCR public shower, Rajashekar’s teeth, and fans in this blog behaving as if their hero is god’s gift to mankind and many more. Well, coming to this bit of trivia…my aunt was travelling on the 24th from vizag to hyd. She was seated comfortably in her place when suddenly there was a surge of people. They all were standing for long hours and sometimes squatting, most of them don’t even have a reservation. All of them were on their way to some mega meet.
These people just knew they were going to hyd and for chiru’s purpose. Where exactly, what meeting, how many days, what they were suposed to do ..they know nothing. When asked where they would stay, some replied in their relative’s place and some had no clue. Station diginaka ekkadiki eltharu ani adigithe they said…antha ma annaiyya choosukuntaadu. Meeting endhuku? Yemo, annaiya ramannaru anthe. Meerandharu evaru? Fans. Emaina dabbulu icchara? Bhale vaale, paapam maa annaiya deggara emundhani isthaadu. CM ayinaka andhariki manchi chestadu. Cotton Ear Buds… (Must read it)
Pls do not show sympathy to people selling buds on roadside or at Signals….. …..
Just wanted to warn you people not to buy those packs of ear buds you get at the roadside. It’s made from cotton that has already been used in
Hospitals.
They take all the dirty, blood and pus filled cotton, wash it, bleach it and use it to make ear buds. So, unless you want to become the first
person in the world to get Herpes Zoster Otiticus (a viral infection of the inner, middle, and external ear) of the ear and that too from a cotton
bud, DON’T BUY THEM!
Telugu Cinema Prapancham: Flopjayanti
Of late Vyjayanti has been churning too many flops. I thought kathanayakudu will do well but the collections don’t seem to be encouraging. On the other hand Rajashekar’s Gorintaku which I thought would dry is turning red, deep red. The last big hit was Indra. Subashchandra Bose, Balu abcdfg, sainikudu, kantri, jai chiranjeeva, Chiruta and now Kathanayakudu….seven in a row dissapoints. Looks like a relatively new director Krish Jagar will resurrect the banner. No one to blame except Dutt himself. Unit members swear that it’s the parsimonious behaviour that prevents him from rising to heights. dabbulu eggodtharu and consequently the good will vanishes and so does blessings. I heard him say on the TV that Rajini tho work cheste janma dhanyam ayipoyindi….wah….innalu chiru ignored other producers and did films only for him and the nicest and flattering compliment goes to Rajini. Raking up regional feeling na? oka muhaavra guthukosthondi…mehnat kare murga, anda kaaye fakir.
NTV Chowdary is supposed to have quoted 100 crores when the govt wanted to settle at 70 or 80 cr for it’s purchase . Buzz is that a land deal settlement comes as the bonus.

Telugu Cinema Prapancham: Jagapati scores high in Kathanayakudu
http://www.hindu.com/mp/2008/08/05/stories/2008080550600100.htm
Jagapati Babu has never attempted to join the superstar club, he’s always been content with his films and also unafraid to be different. His films might have failed at the box office but he has never gone unappreciated, the audience lapped up his work be it Samanyudu, Pellaina Kotthalo or Suswgatham and today he is all over the box office with three films getting ready for release.
What is the reason for the actor’s success? He explores different roles and at the same time keeps reinventing himself. He’s made lasting impressions with frequent guest appearances and still has no qualms doing it. “Big or small, it doesn’t matter, the role should excite me. Even while doing Antahpuram, people asked me as to why I’m doing a cameo but looking back I’m gratified that I pulled it off,” he tells Metro Plus.
Jagapati Babu’s dream was to see himself on screen atleast once and today he has fetched a few Nandis and rounded up eighty movies which is quite an achievement. It might be raining exciting films for him now but the actor projects an air of relaxed confidence. He has his share of five films a year, he doesn’t compete, there are no negative vibes from the industry and lastly and most importantly he is doing fine.
He has also become a hit because of his humility. Dasarath his director terms the actor as a lovable soul, a gentleman and coming from a family of producers he feels the actor is aware of the problems of the technicians. He adds, “We had put up a set of a collapsed bridge on a river bank for Suswagatham and the road got thoroughly spoilt. Jagapati Babu spoke to the engineers, stayed up long hours in the night till the problem was rectified and reported on time for the shooting next day. He sees to it that everyone is comfortable and happy. This quality stretches the longevity of an actor’s career. ”
The actor who is likened to Shoban Babu for his penchant for family and two heroine subjects has formed a connection with the audiences over the years and women particular are fond of him. Jagapati says he found Aamani’s work in Subhalagnam awesome and even asked the director to prolong her role. He cites Chilakottudu as one film he would love to forget, “I knew I was doing a stupid job, the role didn’t suit me at all.” About his encounter with Rajinikant, Jagapati says, “I’m usually known as a humble person but after my meeting with Rajni, I’m being constantly fired from within to better my character. He’s had a calming effect on me.”
Kathanayakudu has Jagapati Babu speaking less. It’s his eyes that does the talking and the role pushes him to deliver his best. He says he’d done Kathanayakudu without seeing the original and the scene wherein Rajni slaps him is the most favourite moment in the film. Jagapati recollects the warm compliments that the super star heaped on him, “I want to work with you again,” Rajni told him on the last day of the shooting.
Homam a cop-criminal story directed by JD Chekravarty has Jagapati hardly smiling or talking and one might see him come up with lot of calisthenics. There is Raksha with Kalyani that deals with black magic and another one that is being directed by Jonnalagadda Srinivas Rao. While Jagapati chooses to remain mum about details, his fans expect the movie to bear his signature. Watch his pace….

Another relationship goes down the drain. The rumoured relationship between an actress and a technician is officially over. The buzz is the rift was imminent as the actress was seeing a hero for quite sometime.

Yuva serial in Maa TV that started off with a bang is slowly sliding. To maintain the TRPs they are roping an actress after an actress for every other episode. Paapam, even Anushka didn’t have any takers. This Yuva might have lost the zing but there is another Yuva coming up. This is a channel to be launched by KS Rama Rao in association with NTV. The launch was planned much before Vanita but they were not ready with the infrastructure. Now it will follow Vanita.
